Hello, we came to know that my paternal uncle was suffering from cancer. He came to know about this health condition when he got his regular blood work done. He takes a blood test once a year as he is suffering from thyroid and diabetes then he came to know about cancer. Is it possible to detect cancer from blood work? Can cancer be detected in blood work?

@unnasha Hello, blood work doesn’t clearly show the presence of cancerous cells but they can give your doctor clues about what's going on inside your body. Routine blood tests are essential to determine a baseline for each person. Doctors can compare subsequent blood tests against this baseline and determine whether any results are abnormal. He might take several other tests to detect the presence of cancerous cells.
