Hello, I am 19 years old female. Why do I experience itching around my vaginal area? It doesn’t burn while peeing and I don’t have symptoms like frequent urination, heavy vaginal discharge, or any other symptom of UTI but I have been experiencing a lot of itching. Should I be worried? Should I try some home remedies first or should I take the doctor’s help?

@reesha Hello, Most vaginal itching isn’t a cause for concern. However, you should contact your doctor or gynecologist if the itching is severe or if you suspect you have an underlying condition. Vaginal itching could be developed due to stress. some of the possible causes for itchiness of the vagina and the surrounding area could be soap, cream, ointments, or scented toilet paper. It could be a skin disorder like eczema, BV, or yeast infection. I would suggest you take the doctor’s help before trying home remedies. You talk to your doctor and take home remedies into consideration along with medication. Thank You.
