What causes flatulence after exercising?
Hello, Flatulence is a normal biological process and is something everyone experiences regularly. Why do I experience flatulence especially after a heavy workout session sometimes it is in the middle of a squat and it is embarrassing? Is it normal exercise or should visit a doctor? If it is common then what causes flatulence after exercising?
@rockey Hello, Exercising can stimulate the movement of gas in our intestine. Any exercises that involve physical bending or twisting can cause the air in our digestive tract to be literally pushed out, exercises like pilates, cycling, yoga, and bouncy exercises like running and jumping rope, our internal organs jostle up and down and side to side. Working out can speed up the natural digestion process, causing gas produced in our GI tract to bubble out faster. Talk to your doctor if you experience excessive flatulence.
