Will looking after my 3 years old baby who is suffering from croup transmit that virus that caused croup? Is croup contagious? If yes then what precautions do I need to take while looking after him?

@genie Hello, croup can be transmitted through coughing, sneezing, and respiratory secretions. Croup is a contagious condition that tends to only affect children. Most cases are caused by a virus. While a child can pass the virus to an adult, the virus usually doesn't affect adults the same way that it does children. This is because adult airways are larger and are less susceptible to airway issues. Here are a few precautions that you should take-

        • Wash and dry your hands thoroughly after caring for your child.
        • Try washing toys between each use.
        • Cover his or her mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing.
          Thanks!
