Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is a relatively common condition where the walls of the throat relax and narrow during sleep, interrupting normal breathing. It is the most common sleep-related breathing disorder. OSA occurs when the muscles supporting the soft tissues in your throat, such as your tongue and soft palate, relax. My husband who is 48 is suffering from obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). Suggest some effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnoea.

@harriet Hello, It's normal for the muscles and soft tissues in the throat to relax and collapse to some degree while sleeping. OSA is a treatable condition and can get better with the treatment.
        Treatment for OSA include:

        • lifestyle changes – such as losing excess weight, cutting down on alcohol
        • Using a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) device
        • Wearing a mandibular advancement device (MAD) can help.
If OSA is left untreated, it can have a significant impact on your quality of life. Please consult a doctor.
