How can one get lyme disease?
-
Hello, lyme disease is a bacterial infection. It can cause rashes, joint pain, flu-like symptoms, and weakness in the limbs. Many people with early symptoms of Lyme disease develop a circular rash. If Lyme disease is left untreated or is not treated early it can cause symptoms like pain and swelling in the joints, nerve problems – such as numbness, memory problems, and heart problems. Lyme disease is a bacterial infection so how can one get transmitted?

@esmiene If a tick bites an animal carrying the bacteria that cause Lyme disease, the tick can become infected. The tick can then transfer the bacteria to a human by biting them. Ticks can be found in any areas with deep or overgrown plants where they have access to animals to feed on. you're more likely to become infected if the tick is attached to your skin for more than 24 hours. Ticks are very small and their bites are not painful, so you may not realize you have one attached to your skin. You can take preventive measures to avoid Lyme disease as there is no vaccine for Lyme disease.
