How to treat separation anxiety in children?
-
Hello, what should I do to treat separation anxiety in my 3 years old? He gets stressed and anxious every time he gets separated from me. It is very difficult for me to leave him at kindergarten as he starts crying. What are the ways that can help me in treating separation anxiety?

- Practice separation- short distances at first. As your child gets used to separation, you can gradually leave for longer and travel further.
- separations after naps or feeding
- Keep familiar surroundings when possible
- Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is an effective form of psychotherapy for separation anxiety disorder. During therapy your child can learn how to face and manage fears about separation
