Is the LCHF diet suitable for pregnant women?
The LCHF diet is high in fats and low in carbohydrates. I used this method to lose weight. I got pregnant 3 months back. I used to eat Eggs, Healthy oils (e.g. olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil), High-fat fish (e.g. salmon, trout, sardines), Full-fat dairy, Avocados, Berries, nuts, and seeds. I heard during pregnancy one should focus on what to eat. Is it still safe to follow the LCHF diet during pregnancy? Is the LCHF diet suitable for pregnant women?
@olive Hello, my recommendation would be you shouldn’t take the LCHF diet during pregnancy. As it can have an impact on the growth of your baby. It can affect the weight and how she/he develops. It may also prevent you both from getting the nutrients you need to stay healthy. You may be missing out on important vitamins and minerals you and your baby need, such as folic acid, and calcium. Thanks!
