Hello, Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern during which you refrain from consuming any calories for an extended period of time. this period lasts between 12 and 40 hours. Water, coffee, and other calorie-free beverages are allowed during the fast, but no solid foods or calorie-containing drinks are permitted. It is not considered safe for everyone. @adolfo Hello, Gallstones form when bile stored in the gallbladder hardens into a stone-like material. Too much cholesterol, bile salts, or bilirubin (bile pigment) can cause gallstones. Yes, it can increase the risk of getting gallstones. A gallstone can be caused by rapid weight and fasting. During rapid weight loss, it causes the liver to secrete extra cholesterol into bile, which can cause gallstones. Fasting decreases gallbladder movement, which causes the bile to become overconcentrated with cholesterol.
