Complications of benign prostate enlargement.
-
Hello, I have benign prostate enlargement. I am 52 years old male. It's not cancer and it's not usually a serious threat to health. Many men worry that having an enlarged prostate means they have an increased risk of developing prostate cancer but what other health complications can arise in the future with benign prostate cancer?

@talon Hello, Benign prostate enlargement can sometimes lead to complications, such as a urinary tract infection or acute urinary retention. Acute urinary retention (AUR) is the sudden inability to pass any urine. AUR should be treated as a medical emergency, because without prompt treatment urine may be passed back up into the kidneys, which can damage them.
