      Iron deficiency anemia is a condition where a lack of iron in the body leads to a reduction in the number of red blood cells. Iron is used to produce red blood cells, which help store and carry oxygen in the blood. Fewer red blood cells than is normal, organs and tissues won't get as much oxygen as they usually would. Women are more prone to the iron deficiency than men, what causes anemia in females?

        @thalia In women iron deficiency is caused due to A poor diet, or certain intestinal diseases that affect how the body absorbs iron can also cause iron-deficiency anemia.

        • Pregnancy or blood loss due to menstruation Heavy menstrual bleeding is a common cause of iron deficiency anemia in women of childbearing age.
        • Internal bleeding
        • endometriosis
        • Genetics.
        • Iron deficiency causes include not eating enough iron-rich foods, blood loss due to menstruation, and inability to absorb iron.
