Is UTI in toddlers symptom of kidney problem?
Hello, My 2 years old boy is suffering from UTI. This is not the first time that he is suffering from UTI. Symptoms that he had were fever, vomit, and pain while peeing. I am worried is it normal? Does UTI in toddlers a symptom of kidney problems? What should I do? UTIs are easy to treat and usually clear up in a week or so but I am worried as he got infected a second time.
@caleigh Hello, No, Most children who get UTIs don’t have other urinary tract problems. Talk to your doctor and make sure he has a normal UTI. If he has a normal UTI then certain habits can help prevent UTIs, Draining the bladder often is one of the body’s best defenses against UTIs. Drinking more fluids will increase urine flow to flush the infection out of the body. In babies and small children, changing diapers more often can help prevent UTIs.Thanks.
