Hello, my 8-year-old son has been diagnosed with ADHD but I don't want him to be on ADHD medication? What are the alternatives to treat ADHD without medications? He had trouble focusing and was inattentive in school. I decided to take him to the doctor, they prescribed medication but I am looking for an alternative method to treat him. Please suggest. What can I do to treat my son’s ADHD without medications?

@zaci Hello, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a group of behavioral symptoms that include inattentiveness, and hyperactivity. The exact cause of ADHD is unknown, but this condition is often hereditary and has been shown to run in families. Here are a few things that you can do to treat ADHD-

        • Give him whole food and a nutritious diet- Quality proteins, healthy fats rich in omega 3s, nutrient-dense fruits. A nutritious diet is important for healthy brain and neurotransmitter function.
        • Nutrient deficiency- Get him tested as nutrition deficiencies like vitamin B, zinc, and magnesium are linked to the development of ADHD.
        • Increase antioxidant and protein.
        • Exercise
        • Get enough sleep- Make sure your child gets enough sleep
You can even take the help of a professional therapist.
          Thanks!
