What should I do quickly to heal a wound, I am a type-2 diabetic patient?
Hello, I am 44 years old male. Two weeks back met with a small accident in the backyard of my house. I have a small laceration. It is not healed, as the laceration is not that deep it would have been healed now. I heard diabetes makes the healing process slow, please suggest what a type-2 diabetic patient can do for a quick recovery? Thanks.
@cy Diabetes is a result of your body’s inability to produce or use insulin. Insulin is a hormone that allows your body to turn glucose. High blood sugar levels can affect your body’s ability to heal wounds. I would suggest you take medical help as untreated wounds can quickly progress into an infection or more serious complication. If you get a wound, it’s also important that you eat healthily and exercise. A small scrape can become serious if you don’t take proper care of it and wounds that are left to fester could lead to an amputation in the most serious cases. Thank You.
