Hello, Bipolar disorder, is a condition that affects your moods, which can swing from one extreme to another. People with bipolar experience high and low moods—known as mania and depression which differ from the typical ups-and-downs most people experience. If left untreated, bipolar disorder usually worsens. However, with good treatment, it can get better but the first step is a diagnosis, how does bipolar disorder is diagnosed?

@hagen-0 Hello, it is diagnosed by a Specialist assessment where psychiatrists ask a few questions to determine if you have bipolar disorder. If you do, they'll decide what treatments are most suitable. During the assessment, they asked about your symptoms and when you first experienced them. The psychiatrist will also ask about how you feel leading up to and during an episode of mania or depression if you have thoughts about harming yourself, and your medical background. Depending on your symptoms, you may also need tests to see whether you have a physical problem, such as a thyroid test.
