Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease. In the majority of cases, hair falls out in small patches around the size of a quarter. Sometimes, it can lead to the complete loss of hair on the scalp. Alopecia areata occurs when white blood cells attack the cells in hair follicles, causing them to dramatically slow down hair production. Is there any natural treatment to treat this condition? My mother is suffering from Alopecia areata, she is 53 years.

@sammy Hello, Alopecia areata is not a sign of poor health or illness, nor is it contagious. No treatment can permanently change the course of this skin disorder. There are no treatments for alopecia areata approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), there are various prescription medications that have been scientifically shown to help regrow hair. Here are a few natural remedies that helped a few people in regaining their hair growth-
Onion extract-the sulfur in onion juice helps hair regrowth. There’s not much research on this, but a small study tested it in people with alopecia areata, which causes patchy hair loss.
Increasing iron content by taking supplements and diet.
        Thank You!
