What causes brain freeze?
It is intense pain in the head. Pain occurs in the front part of your head. It is more frequent after eating, I experience sudden pain. I reached out to the doctor to treat it, and he examined me and said I am suffering from a brain freeze. Can anyone tell me what causes brain freeze and what should I do to prevent it?
@xena Hello, it is an intense pain in the head caused by eating or drinking something cold. It's not serious and goes away in a few seconds or minutes. When the body senses sudden, extreme cold in the mouth or throat, it tries to react and warm up. Blood vessels throughout the head expand to let extra blood into the area for warmth. That quick change in blood vessel size causes sudden pain. You can only prevent it by stopping eating or drinking the cold item or getting out of the cold.
