Itching after wearing latex gloves, am I allergic to latex?
Hello, is itching a symptom of latex allergy? Since yesterday I am having itching on my hands my wife said it might be because of the latex gloves that I wore yesterday. She said Latex allergy symptoms may include hives, itching, stuffy or runny nose but I am only having itching in my hands. I am confused as latex is used in various objects like condoms, handbags, balloons, athletic shoes, tires, tools, underwear legs, and waistbands if I was allergic to latex then I would have got such symptoms earlier. Am I allergic to latex or is there something else that I should worry about?
@tabari-0 Hello, itching in the hands could be caused by wearing rubber gloves or exposure to the powder inside them. Allergic skin problems can occur following direct contact with allergic latex proteins in latex glove products. Symptoms may include immediate itching, redness, and swelling of the skin that touched the item containing latex. It might be the powder inside the gloves that caused itching. Thanks!
