Hello, I am 44 years old female. My doctor prescribed 500mg of vitamin C supplement to treat my vitamin C deficiency. Is 500mg vitamin C supplement too much? Symptoms that I used to get early were I used to get easily bruised, having bumpy and rough skin, and pain in my knees. My doctor prescribed me to take a blood test so I got my work done then he prescribed me a vitamin c supplement that I need to take every day. Will taking a vitamin C supplement o 500 mg be harmful?

@ole Hello, taking 500 mg daily is safe. You can take vitamin C supplements of 500 mg every day. For quick recovery include foods that are rich in vitamin C. The foods richest in vitamin C are citrus fruits, green peppers, strawberries, tomatoes, broccoli, white potatoes, and sweet potatoes. Other good sources include dark leafy greens, cantaloupe, papaya, mango, watermelon, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage, red peppers, raspberries, blueberries, winter squash, and pineapples. Thanks!
