Is it summer or some deficiency that is causing chapped lips?
-
Hello, I have chapped lips not only in winter but also in summers. I hydrate myself regularly and apply lip balm to hydrate my lips. Please let me know is there any type of deficiency that can chapped lips. If yes then please let me know in the comments what it is? I realized dry skin is a symptom of vitamin D. Is dry lips a symptom of some sort of deficiency?

@saira Hello, yes it could be the symptom of deficiency. Deficiencies in various vitamins and minerals may contribute to chapped lips. Deficiency like iron, zinc, and B vitamins. Also, Environmental conditions like sun damage and cold or windy weather can cause your lips to dry out and become chapped. Also, dehydration and excessive licking or picking at your lips. Chapped lips may indicate other serious health conditions like Crohn’s disease. If chapped lips don’t seem to heal with lip balms or ointments, consult a healthcare professional to determine whether you have any deficiencies. Thanks!
