Hello, I am 44 years old male. I get frequent edema or swelling in the legs. Can anyone tell me what is causing frequent edema? My legs used to get swell during pregnancy but I am neither pregnant nor I am taking medication or suffering from other chronic conditions. Please let me know what is causing frequent edema? Why do I get frequent leg edema? Is it a thing to be worried about? What should I do?

@ratii Edema is swelling caused by excess fluid trapped in your body's tissues. Edema occurs when tiny blood vessels in your body (capillaries) leak fluid. The fluid builds up in surrounding tissues, leading to swelling. If you have mild edema then it might be caused by Sitting or staying in one position for too long and eating too much salty food. As you said you are experiencing frequent edema please take professional help as it could be a symptom o chronic conditions like heart failure, Cirrhosis, Kidney disease, Kidney damage, and an Inadequate lymphatic system.
