Can vitamins make you burp?
-
Hello, I am 29 years old female with a low level of iron, calcium, and vitamin b12. My doctor prescribed me some vitamin supplements and asked me to take them every day. I realized after taking these supplements that they make burp a lot. I never used to burp this as I do now. Am I overthinking or vitamins do make people burp a lot? Is this true? Can vitamins make you burp?

@frieder Hello, taking vitamins on an empty stomach may cause vitamin burps. It's mainly caused by the capsule dissolving in your stomach instead of lower in your gastrointestinal tract, in the small intestines. Vitamins that make you burp might be a sign to switch to another vitamin. You can try taking your vitamins with food. According to research having food in your stomach can help reduce the risk of vitamin burps. Whether choosing a daily multivitamin, fish oil, or any other vitamin consult a registered dietitian.
