Why does my 2 years old daughter still drool?
-
Hello, my 2 years old daughter is done with her teething stage and she has 16 teeth. She drools quite badly and this is concerning me despite it probably being down to teething. Could you please advise if this is something to be concerned about? What can I do to stop her drooling?

@nyoka Hello, as you said she has 16 teeth but she might be teething. excess saliva production includes teething, low muscle tone, and /or swallowing difficulties. Excessive saliva production and drooling may require a professional consultation. You can consult with a doctor, dentist, and/or speech-language pathologist. Typical drooling is no cause for alarm in infants and toddlers. However, excessive drooling accompanied by fever or other various red flags could be signs of more serious concerns such as retropharyngeal abscess, Ludwig angina, or upper airway obstruction. Please talk to a doctor. Thanks!
