Hello, I am 34 years old male. I visit a bar 3 to 4 times a week and I also drink alcohol 2 to 3 times a week. Recently I have been getting this occasional pain from the liver area under my right ribs. The pain comes and goes. The pain is usually after and while drinking. Could this be a sign of liver damage? If I press the area under my right rib cage about halfway across I can feel pain. Is that pain in the Liver?

@mikkel One should immediately consult a doctor if his/her liver hurts after drinking alcohol. Causes of pain originating in the liver itself include chronic hepatitis (liver inflammation), fatty liver disease, liver abscess, and liver cancer. Drinking excess alcohol can cause liver pain, and damage and lead to liver disease or cirrhosis. If left untreated, liver damage can lead to serious complications and, finally, death. Consult your doctor if you drink alcohol. Please see a doctor immediately, If left untreated, liver damage can lead to serious complications. Thanks
