Is it common to experience heartburn, and indigestion after gallbladder removal?

Hello, I am 57 years old male. I have been experiencing heartburn and indigestion more than usual after gallbladder removal. It kind of feels like food not going down but my heartburn is quite bad and a heavy feeling. The doctor has given me a tablet. Is there one who experienced the same after the gallbladder removal? Is it common to experience heartburn, and indigestion after gallbladder removal? Why?

@eliz Hello, Studies show that bile reflux occurs in 80% to 90% of patients who have had gallbladder surgery. They are actually more likely to have bile reflux after having their gallbladder removed. If you suffer from GERD and undergo gallbladder resection, GERD-related symptoms may get worse after surgery due to increased bile reflux.
