Hello, does anybody know if hemorrhoids can cause discharge? I am a male and have had this discharge daily over the last few months and a Burning sensation in my Anus. My STI test is negative. GP thought it could be a thrombosed hemorrhoid and prescribed ointment which doesn't seem to have helped. I never experienced this type of discharge. I am very concerned. Can hemorrhoids cause a burning sensation and discharge?

@eha Hemorrhoids are caused by swollen veins in or around the rectum or anus. Hemorrhoids can lead to bleeding and discharge from the rectum and a burning sensation in the anus. Internal hemorrhoid becomes inflamed, it can leak mucus. This causes the feeling of dampness and can cause staining to your underwear. The hemorrhoid discharge itself can cause inflammation around the skin of the anus, resulting in a burning sensation that becomes itchy. Please ask your doctor to change the ointment. Thanks!
