My age is 52 and I am a known diabetic for 18 years. My sugar is well controlled. Recently I have developed a wound on my left feet and it is not healing. What should I do?

@nisha There are high chances to develop foot ulcers in patients with long history of diabetes . The most important reason behind the ulcer is the decrease in feeling of pain in the extremities. The small injuries or abrasion goes unnoticed and often result in ulcers and infection. You should consult your health care provider and he may refer you to podiatrist, if required. The principles of management includes infection control, decompression, debridement of dead tissue and dressing.
