Hello, I am 24 years old female. I recently got transferred so I had a water problem in the initial days. I soon noticed that I was getting itching all over my skin, especially in the evening. When I stop drinking the mineral water the itching stopped. I've never heard of this before and wondered if anyone else had experienced anything similar. Is it possible to be allergic to mineral water? Please suggest!

@fikham Hello, yes it is possible mineral waters have over 410mg/L of sulfate. Allergies to sulfur are common, including well-known reactions to certain antibiotics, and other medications. Sulfite sensitivity occurs most often in asthmatic adults, with reactions being extremely rare in non-asthmatics. There is a very rare condition known as aquagenic urticaria (AU) where skin contact with water causes itchy, red hives, or swelling. In severe cases, it can cause wheezing or shortness of breath. Please avoid mineral water and talk to your doctor once. Thanks
