Hello, for the past few years, my upper lip has gotten swollen out of nowhere. I thought it was because of the allergy to artificial coloring food dyes and I've completely eliminated it from my diet. I am encountering swelling of the eyes even after not consuming artificial coloring food dyes. Can anyone tell what might be causing it? I take Benadryl. Benadryl takes the swelling down but it will often take more than one dose to go down entirely. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

@miki Hello, it could be Angioedema. It is a condition that causes swelling deep under your skin. It can be caused by allergies, nonallergic drug reactions, or hereditary conditions. The swelling can affect any part of your body, but it's most common in your lips or eyes. I would advise you to do some food tests with a doctor's supervision to find out if it's perhaps some kind of nut or lactose. If it is not a food allergy, it could be a topical allergy to some cream or perfume. Thanks.
