Abdominal pain, and gastritis. I suffer from mono.

Hello, I'm on my 5th month of mono and I am doing better, but recently I feel this constant knot or tightness in my abdomen. it never goes away and causes me a lot of discomfort all the time even hard to sleep. Is it gastritis? Has anyone had this symptom with mono? What to do? Help!!

In rare cases, infectious mononucleosis can be associated with gastrointestinal tract symptoms and can cause complications such as gastritis, splenic infarction, splenic rupture, lymphoma, and gastric cancer. The gastrointestinal manifestations associated with EBV are diverse and range from acute gastritis to malignancy. Acute gastritis and chronic gastritis can be seen in EBV infection cases and it is difficult to distinguish it from other types of gastritis such as Helicobacter gastritis and lymphocytic gastritis. Get medical care right away if you have severe belly pain. Thank You!
