Hello, My periods became light and closer together last January 2022 I got a scan and all was fine (PCOS normal) smear test normal, then my periods suddenly stopped in march and I have been spotting since, pretty much every day, my doctor has checked my cervix and all is fine but I am so scared. Is this fine? What might be causing it? I am only 27 years old, it couldn’t be menopause nor do I take birth control pills.

@uinseann Hello, sorry to hear that. It is not normal to have spotting every day. Long-term spotting could be the result of fibroids or polyps. Fibroids occur in the uterus and are the result of overgrowing muscles. Polyps are overgrowths that occur in the uterus or cervix. Both of these conditions are benign, but they can cause discomfort when you urinate as well as cause irregular bleeding. Please speak with a doctor. A person should speak with a doctor if they experience frequent spotting, more than three missed periods in a row, and unusual discharge. Thanks!
