It has taken me 6 months to finally get my son into another school that is willing to cater to his needs problem is he was happy doing the half days but extremely unhappy about doing full days. My son told me he doesn't want to go to school and that he hated school. he's nervous about going in I've asked the teacher to speak to him to try and make him understand that he needs to go to school but he really isn't happy and I was just wondering is there anything I can do to help him adjust and be happier about going in? What are your suggestions? What can I do?

@ltrun Hello, your child suffers from separation anxiety. A child psychologist might be able to help. Separation anxiety disorder is usually treated with psychotherapy, sometimes along with medication. Psychotherapy, sometimes called talk therapy or psychological counseling, involves working with a therapist to reduce separation anxiety symptoms. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is an effective form of psychotherapy for separation anxiety disorder. During therapy, your child can learn how to face and manage fears about separation and uncertainty. In addition, parents can learn how to effectively provide emotional support and encourage age-appropriate independence. combining medication with CBT may be helpful if symptoms are severe. At home Learn about your child's separation anxiety disorder, and Stick to the treatment plan. Encourage your child or loved one to try new experiences, experience separation, and develop independence with your support. Thanks!
