Is it safe to take montelukast for 3 months to treat pollen induced asthma?

Hello, I am 29 years old female. I suffer from pollen-induced asthma every year in April may and it sometimes lasts till mid-June, then it automatically goes and never comes back again the whole year. I Suffer from mucus coughing chest tightness and wheezing for the last 2 years. This year also I started this tablet 15 days ago for prevention and I'm doing good. My question is. Is it ok to take montelukast for 3-4 months regularly and then stop, though my doctor last year said it's ok for 3 months regularly? Just a second opinion I want. What if I take it for 4 months. Is it a danger?

@ldan Hello, Montelukast is used to prevent the symptoms of asthma. It's usually prescribed when asthma is mild and can stop it from getting worse. It can also help people with asthma who have breathing difficulties when they exercise (exercise-induced asthma) and seasonal allergies, such as sneezing, itchiness, and a blocked or runny nose. You should avoid taking medicine for this long. Talk to your doctor or get medical care right away. Thanks!
