Does Eating Nuts Lead to Better Breast Cancer Outcomes?
-
In a first of its kind study, women with a breast cancer diagnosis who recalled eating nuts were found to have a significantly better disease-free survival over a 10-year study period compared with those who said they had not eaten nuts. There was also an improvement in overall survival, but this was not statistically significant.

@kunal Nuts are important components of healthy diets. Promoting this modifiable lifestyle factor should be emphasized in breast cancer survivor guidelines. The association for disease-free survival is quite strong and robust. However, as with all observational studies, this report shows an association and not causation.
