Hello, My sister who is 45 years old had a stent put in and he doesn’t have symptoms anymore. She works at a desk job. How long should she expect to be home before she can return to work? Please suggest what can I do? I am worried for her. Thank you for your suggestions.

@rrett Hello, it is better to ask your doctor. After stent placement, most asymptomatic patients should be able to return to work 1-3 weeks after the procedure. Those patients with physically strenuous or high-stress jobs should wait longer. Your doctor must verify that your heart has no lingering defects with imaging studies (echocardiograms) and EKGs. As each case is individual, your brother should be medically cleared by his primary care physician or cardiologist before returning to work. Moreover, If you had a planned (non-emergency) coronary angioplasty, you should be able to return to work after a week. However, if you've had an emergency angioplasty following a heart attack, it may be several weeks or months before you recover fully and are able to return to work.
