Hello, I am a 19-year-old female who has not had problems with her period until now. I had my period around the first of this month. I then had a 2-week break with no abnormal occurrence. Then on Monday the 20th I started bleeding again. Does it sound normal? What could it be? I am not sexually active, I can't figure this one out?? I have never seen a gynecologist, so I am not sure what should I do??? What is going on here?? Can anyone help me?

@von Hello, no need to worry but visit a gynecologist. There are many reasons your period might be coming more often than usual. Natural hormone fluctuations can cause this, as can lifestyle factors like being overweight or stressed. But having your period twice in one month could also be a sign of a medical condition that needs treatment. If your periods are heavy, often come more than once a month, or if you've had sex, check in with your doctor or nurse practitioner or visit a local health clinic. Some clotting problems, hormone problems, and sexually transmitted infections (STDs) can cause girls to bleed more. Thanks!!!
