Hello, I'm merely wondering if spending hours out in the cold rain will lower your immune system and increases your chances of developing pneumonia? I am 18 years old male. I got diagnosed with pneumonia this winter season. What are the chances of getting pneumonia in the rainy season? What precautions I can take?

@ustaf Hello, it is bacteria and viruses, not the weather, that cause infections such as the common cold, influenza (the flu), or pneumonia . There seems to be a correlation between meteorological features and pneumonia. The lesser the temperature more common the incidence of pneumonia. Relative humidity and precipitation are the other factors. Age, air pollution, and immune status are the other factors. Relating to legionella pneumonia rainfall acutely increases the microbial contamination. Also, changes in temperature, if it is favorable to the vectors of disease transmission, become more. The increased humidity meant more specks of dust and continuous heavy rain had led to sicknesses such as influenza and pneumonia.
