Hello, I keep getting tonsils again even though I brush my teeth twice a day. I even foss regularly, and use mouthwash. Why can I not keep them away? What is wrong with me? What should I do? Can anyone tell me why it is recurring in spite of brushing teeth twice a day?
@harjeet Hello, Tonsil Stones Are Not Necessarily Caused by Poor Oral Hygiene, but Practicing Good Care Can Help. A common misconception is that tonsil stones are caused by not practicing good oral hygiene. But the truth is that people who brush, floss, and take good care of their teeth and gums can still develop tonsil stones. Also, chronic and recurrent tonsillitis may occur due to biofilms in the folds of the tonsils. Biofilms are communities of microorganisms that have developed antibiotic resistance, and they can cause repeated infections. Genetics may also be a reason for recurrent tonsillitis. Please talk to your doctor. Thanks!
