Hello, I am 25 years old female. A lot of women experience hair loss after postpartum. An increase in estrogen in the body changes your hair growth cycle. Hair remains in a growing phase longer during your pregnancy instead of shifting to a resting stage after postpartum The drop in estrogen triggers your hair to go back to the cycle of growth, resting, and falling out which leads to hair loss. Does hair fall starts just after having a baby or later?

Hi, Pregnancy increase in estrogen helps hair stay in its growth phase much longer. Estrogen has an effect on skin and hair and therefore its drop after delivery causes hair fall to increase. Besides estrogen, other hormones fall back to normal levels within a few days. it doesn’t happen immediately after the baby is born. The noticeable hair loss can come after most other postpartum symptoms have passed, with peak hair loss around four to five months postpartum. You can't prevent postpartum hair loss. It's a normal part of the recovery from pregnancy. Eat well and continue to take your prenatal vitamins to ensure that your body (is getting all of the nutrients it needs.
