Hello, I am 21 years old male. Did I want to find out about corrective knock knee surgery? Is it possible at age of 21? Are there any side effects? I have knock knees and my father who is 50 years old also has knock knees. He hasn't had any surgery. I am thinking about takingone. Can anyone tell me about lnee knock corrective surgery?

@ghosh Hi, There are two main surgeries to treat knock knees: A distal femoral osteotomy (DFO) and a DFO with tibial osteotomy. Distal femoral osteotomy, or DFO, surgery involves creating a cut in the femur just above the knee to reshape the bone and realign the entire limb. It depends on what is needed to correct. If we are talking about ligament damage e.g. ACL tear or cartilage damage then yes. If the consideration is for a knee replacement, then no - that is not done until later in life (50 years old and up). Thank You!!
