Tingling in legs and shortness of breath after diagnosed with iron deficiency.
-
Hello, 20 years old. I got my blood test done which showed very low levels of hemoglobin. I then got my serum iron test done too and I was diagnosed with iron deficiency anaemia. I had some symptoms such as tingling in my legs, I started to feel shortness of breath, and especially from evening onwards, it increases. This shortness of breath is there for the last three days. Can anyone help me?

@runako Hello, Iron is an essential mineral that is part of all cells in your body. The iron in red blood cells is located in hemoglobin, which is a protein that carries oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body. Having too little iron leads to anemia because your body lacks enough hemoglobin to transport oxygen. Iron deficiency can also cause tingling in your arms and legs. Tingling of the arms and legs is an abnormal sensation that can result from low levels of iron. Reduced blood supply to your hands and feet causes tingling sensations. Iron deficiency anemia may leave you tired and short of breath. Please talk to your doctor, eat healthy, and exercise. Thanks!
