49 yrs old noticed changes in period abt a year ago but nothing else. having gastro problems I am bloated all the time.. have to run to the bathroom after I eat which makes me not want to eat. Feel like I have no control over this feeling and I read somewhere that if u have yellow soft stool it could be serious. Went to the gyno yesterday he took blood and didn't get results yet but left feeling worse because I expected him to say that not sleeping as well irregular periods mood swings and brain fog were part of peri but instead he just said no night sweats. I can't seem to put my thoughts at ease I'm full of dread.. anyone else??

@hasana Lightly colored stools may indicate a lack of bile salts due to either gall bladder or liver dysfunction. It would cause bloating as well, but probably not diarrhea. Possibly some food allergies tend to develop during menopause. some had to stop eating dairy for example. You can investigate that.
It could be hormone changes that occur as a result of menopause. But from personal experience, I think you could have bile salt malabsorption. My suggestion is that you ask for a referral to a gastroenterologist, who can do the appropriate tests to diagnose you. Usually, the first test to be done will be a liver panel, so that the GI doctor can tell if your liver is stressed, which happens with gallbladder disease.
