Hello, I am 19 years old. I am studying in college. For past two weeks I have noticed that I am getting dark spots on my face. Initially it was less, so I did not pay attention. Now as it is increasing, it is quite a concern. I don't know how to fix this. Can anybody give me some suggestion on how to remove dark spots on my face. What are all the causes behind these spots and do I need to see a doctor? Please advise if anybody is aware of.

@pratibha Dark spots on the face can result from hyperpigmentation, which is a common skin condition that occurs when the skin produces too much melanin. Hyperpigmentation can be due to sun exposure, scarring, aging, and more. Many dark spots are harmless. However, if you want to reduce their appearance, you can usually do by using topical treatments. There are many over-the-counter (OTC) products that can help fade dark spots. They will typically contain active ingredients such as: hydroquinone, retinoids, chemical exfoliants. These products will have instructions on how to use them on the label. However, it is best to speak with a dermatologist before trying them, as some have risks.
