Hi all, I'm 48 and for the last 2 years my periods have been almost nonexistent, I go around 6 months with nothing but then one day I just have the tiniest bit of spotting. Last week I visited the GP and had a blood test which I have to wait a week for the results. The thing is I've had no symptoms of menopause! except for painful finger joints and backache etc. So can this be menopause?

@marian I think you should wait for your blood work to come back first. Menopause is 12 months with no periods, but every woman is different. If it is menopause and you have no other symptoms consider yourself very lucky. Menopause is considered 1 whole year without any bleeding. Like you I get a tiny period every 6 months.
