@sarkarsatarupa Gastroschisis is thought to be the result of a failure of the umbilical coelom to develop to an appropriate size. The intestine then ruptures out of the body wall to the right of the umbilicus, where a slight weakness exists secondary to resorption of the right umbilical vein early in gestation. Gastroschisis is associated with intestinal atresias in 10-15% of cases, probably as a consequence of interruption of the vascular supply to the intestine.
