@lehina Catamenial asthma is asthma that is associated with your menstrual cycle. Just before and during your period, progesterone and estrogen levels decrease. In some women, these hormone changes may worsen asthma. The relationship between hormones and asthma is complex, varies from person to person, and isn't fully understood. Though the precise cause is unclear, there are various theories about how hormonal fluctuations may cause shortness of breath. Catamenial asthma is characterized by recurrent episodes of serious, possibly fatal, asthma attacks occurring at the time of menstruation with a reported decrease in peak expiratory flow rates. Talk to your doctor thanks!
