Hello, Bone density tests are very helpful. These BMD tests check how strong your bones are by measuring a small part of one or a few of them. Many studies suggest women who are 65 and older and Younger women with a higher-than-normal chance of fracture for their age should take bone density tests. Like any other tests do these bone density tests are of high radiation? Is it safe to take bone density tests?

@yadi Hello, A bone density scan uses very low doses of radiation. It is safe for most people. But it is not recommended for pregnant women. Even low doses of radiation could harm an unborn baby. Most men under 70 and women under age 65 probably don't need the test because Most people do not have serious bone loss. Most people have no bone loss or mild bone loss (called osteopenia). Their risk of breaking a bone is low so they do not need the test. Thanks!
