low mood and anxiety be caused by low Vitamin D and Iron levels?
-
I have been experiencing low moods and anxiety for the past 2 months now. My doctor recommended antidepressants, but I was keen to be tested for any underlying causes first.
My blood test results showed
Vitamin D- 23
Iron- 19So my doctor says I was slightly deficient. Is this the cause for low mood and anxiety? It is affecting my work as I can't focus on anything.
I started taking Iron/Vit D . I saw an improvement last week.
Just looking for some insight here. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Thanks in advance.

@shiney If your depression is related to a vitamin D deficiency, increasing your vitamin D may help to relieve your symptoms.
Vitamin D is vital to your physical and mental health. Insufficient vitamin D levels can lead to a number of health problems, including depression. Some ways to treat depression related to insufficient vitamin D levels include:getting more sun
adding foods rich in vitamin D to your diet
maintaining a healthy weight
taking nutrient supplementsSpeak with your doctor about your treatment options and what would work best for you.
