Hi, I am 20 years old girl. I was suffering from Urinary tract infection. I was on antibiotic for twenty days. I got recovered. After few days of that again I started feeling discomfort and itching in vagina. It was increasing and became unbearable. I rushed in to see a doctor. He diagnosed me that I got vaginal yeast infection. I got redness, pain and severe itching. I was maintaining all sorts of hygiene, but still I got this. I cant get the point. Please somebody help and guide what should I do to get relief.

@tanisha The yeast Candida is a naturally occurring microorganism in the vaginal area. Lactobacillus bacteria keeps its growth in check. But if there’s an imbalance in your system, these bacteria won’t work effectively. This leads to an overgrowth of yeast, which causes the symptoms of vaginal yeast infections. Several factors can cause a yeast infection, including antibiotics, which decrease the amount of Lactobacillus (“good bacteria”) in the vagina. A specific kind of yeast called Candida albicans causes most yeast infections. These infections are easily treatable.
