Hello, I am 34 years old. I was feeling generalized weakness and got consultation from a physician. He prescribed me vitamin capsules. So I have noticed that when I take this vitamin, I suffer from gastritis, flatulence, bloating. Sometimes I also get heart burn. I can't figure out that is it due to the capsule I am taking regularly or not. I have no other medical condition as such. Can anybody comment on this whether vitamin capsule causes gastritis or not?

@moumita Taking vitamins on an empty stomach can frequently upset the GI tract. Many people experience stomach pains, nausea and even diarrhea. Vitamins and supplements can also aggravate gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcers, gastritis, irritable bowel syndrome and other digestive conditions. If you have a hard time eating first thing in the morning, try taking your vitamins in the evening, with dinner, instead. Taking a smaller dose of a vitamin daily is always better than taking a large dose once a week or month.
